Matchbox Models

For many years Lesney have produced "Matchbox" die cast models in a variety of scales in their "Models of Yesteryear" series, many of which could be used on tramway layouts. They were the original maker of the N gauge model London E1 class car, sometimes known as the "Ty-Phoo tram" as at one time it was marketed by Ty-Phoo Tea for advertising.

The current model tram under this brand name is a 4-wheel open balcony Preston car which at first appeared as a London Transport, ex West Ham car and has subsequently been produced in other liveries. It is approximately to H0 gauge. (1:87)
